If you are infected by this kind of virus, you will see red words in Simplified Chinese and English on desktop, memorizing a campus BBS called “Bi Jian She Qu” (比肩社区), which was stopped for one year by Chinese Government for a year, and speaking of deleting all Microsoft Word documents in the computer. The words will be vanished after several seconds if you move windows around the desktop.
This kind of virus is not very severe but seems very annoying. Here’s a solution I found from Huimingtang’s MSN Space, which I translated into English:
Protecting from infection—
Mostly, the virus is spread by USB memory stick, so please scan your memory stick EVERY TIME you plug it in. And that is always a good habit. But before that, update your anti-virus software to the latest version.
Don’t double click to open the memory stick, right-click and choose “open”, so there’s no chance for the virus to “autorun”, following with the virus file toy.exe.
Killing the virus—
Set the explorer settings to show all hidden system files, even protected system files, so that you can see in memory stick there’re files named autorun.inf and toy.exe. delete them.
If the computer has been infected, after the processions above, kill winlog0n.exe (notice there’s a number 0, not letter o) and systemnt.exe in the system monitor. Then, right-click startup in start menu, open it and delete the file windows.exe.
Here’s a method to take away the effect of this virus, but the best way to solve it must be a professional anti-virus software. The latest version of Rising Anti-Virus of China has updated to solve the problem. I hope more anti-virus system around the world will prevent it from spreading.
